How to make sure you are booking with a reputable adventure tour company?
In the light of the shock announcement that Kumuka Worldwide has closed its doors, we thought it prudent to give some easy guidance on how you can protect yourself when choosing an adventure tour company (be it an operator or an agent).
- Make sure the agent and operator is insured (bonded) by a recognized and reputable tourism body. The tourism body will pay you out should the company close down. - We are Bonded by SATSA, giving you financial protection.
- If you are working with an agent, ask them who runs the tour you’re interested in. They should have nothing to hide as they should have a better rate than if you booked direct.
2 easy steps to you protect yourself?
- Get comprehensive travel insurance that covers cancellations and changes (tours, flights, accommodation etc). We can’t stress this enough!
- Only work with an agent or tour operator company that is bonded by a recognized and reputable tourism body or insurance body. This means that; in the unlikely event their doors have to close, any monies you’ve paid would be refunded.
We are SATSA Bonded (underwritten by Lloyds of London) and SATIB insured ensuring protection for all our travellers. To be bonded we submit yearly financials and have additional insurances. Our SATSA membership number is 1712 which you can find at www.satsa.com
