The central area is a vast highland region of volcanic rock forming a watered, temperate zone surrounded by hot, arid, inhospitable desert. The Great Rift Valley, which starts in Palestine, runs down the Red Sea and diagonally southwest through Ethiopia, Kenya and Malawi.
Addis Ababa, the capital of Ethiopia, is a bustling African city, dotted with Italian architecture, interesting churches and friendly inhabitants. It is also a city of immense contrasts.
This tour offers you an all-encompassing 14 day journey through a tapestry of natural, cultural and archaeological wonders. Follow the Blue Nile and the Blue Nile Falls to their source and stare in awe at the Simien Mountains.
