What is a Drifters Adventure Tour like?
Drifters Vehicles
Drifters have over 60 state of the art, custom-built vehicles designed to take you to ‘off the beaten track’ locations while providing comfort, great viewing and safety. They have 4×4 trucks and 4×4 landcruisers to suit the terrain of the area.
Drifters Guides
There is one crew member for your tour. Each guide is qualified and registered with the Field Guides Association of Southern Africa and South African Tourism Association and have years of knowledge and experience that are willing to share with you. They will assist you with all aspects of the tour from setting up camp cooking, to getting you safely to your destination. Their experience will provide you with informative tours about the fauna and flora of the area. The guides have been chosen because they are mature, but young at heart and have a love for people and Africa!
Accommodation and Campsites
Drifters have their own exclusive lodges that stretch along the Southern African sub-continent. They offer the perfect accommodation for everyone. The lodges are situated in the wilderness of the Wildcoast, sub-tropical paradises offering dreamy accommodation to busy, vibey cities. The comfortable accommodation allows you to have a relaxed, stress-free safari with plenty of time for you to explore your surroundings. Most of the lodges have swimming pools, bars and restaurants.
The equipment and tents for the camping areas are of the highest standard. They own their own retail stores so are able to keep abreast of the trends taking place in the market. They also develop and manufacture most of their equipment. The campsite has chairs, fold-out tables, tents (with built-in mosquito nets) and stretcher beds/cots. You are asked to bring your own sleeping bags, towels and pillows, although sleeping bags can be purchased on tour.
Drifters Food on Tour
On camping tours you can enjoy tasty meals from local organic ingredients that are purchased from the communities. Meals are prepared and served at the truck with a special state-of-the-art kitchen. The Lodge tours provide meals at the establishment where you can enjoy restaurant-quality food. The breakfasts are fairly simple consisting of bread (or toast), spreads, cereals, fruit, rusks with occasional hot breakfasts such as eggs bacon or pancakes. Lunches include sandwiches with a variety of fillings and salads. Dinners such as curries, stews, pastas, braais and even roasts will be enjoyed around the campfire.
