Samburu National Park

Today is spent in the beautiful Samburu Reserve, typically embarking on morning and afternoon game drives with a siesta at midday. Today we also have the chance to pay a visit to a Samburu village, where we are educated about this intriguing culture. The Samburu men are rather flamboyant compared to their Masai cousins, proudly donning a range of colourful necklaces, wristbands and anklets. Traditionally semi-nomadic pastoralists, the Samburu have been required to adapt in a constantly-changing world with livestock sales creating income to purchase food, and the younger males journeying to Nairobi in order to seek out jobs that will help them support their families.
