Samburu – Lake Baringo
We awake in the morning to make our way back south, passing through Isiolo and traveling around Mount Kenya’s ‘shoulder’ before heading through to Thompson Falls and the Great Rift Valley. Lake Baringo is one of two freshwater lakes in the Rift Valley, housing crocodile and hippo, as well as more than 400 bird species. In the afternoon we have time to hire a boat for a lake cruise to observe some of the beautiful wildlife of our surrounds. Otherwise, feel free to embark on a guided nature walk around the shores of the lake. The evening is spent at our tourist class hotel, where we enjoy a delicious dinner and a peaceful night’s sleep.
