Nakuru – Masai Mara National Reserve

We awake early today for our journey to the Masai Mara. This is a fairly long trip across the valley that passes through the Masai town of Narok and the isolated, windy Loita Hills to the south-western region of Kenya. As we make our way into the reserve we are able to spot some wildlife from the main path, despite the fact that we are far outside of the boundaries of the Park. Finally we reach camp, situated just a few hundred metres from the Park’s borders. It is here that we have time to indulge in a delicious lunch and maybe a brief nap before heading out on our first game drive through the reserve later in midday.
