Lake Nakuru National Park, Kenya
In the morning, we start exploring the stunning Lake Nakuru National Park, renowned for the countless flamingos that are attracted to the edges of this soda lake. The actual numbers of these birds varies depending on the water level that, when low, almost transforms the lake into a haze of pink. The park was initially established as a sanctuary for black and white rhino, which are often spotted here. Our day is spent seeking out these gorgeous creatures as well as the elusive leopard, whilst on the way coming into contact with buffalo, giraffe, numerous antelope and the occasional hippopotamus. We head to camp after our game drive and arrive in the late afternoon.
