Day 1: Cape Town – Hermanus

We begin our trip with an early morning start, making our way out of the ‘Mother City’, Cape Town through several gorgeous coastal roads, over lush mountains and crossing crystal clear blue rivers toward Hermanus for lunch. Renowned for its amazing whale and dolphin sightings, you have the afternoon to partake in a stunning whale watching tour, to explore the town’s assortment of shops and boardwalk on foot, or to pay a visit to the old Harbour open-Air Museum – a provincial heritage site. This museum is unique due to the fact that it is only one of two fishing harbours in the entire world that has been preserved intact – remainders of the dynamic fishing industry can be spotted everywhere. The museum is the base around which the village of Hermanus was constructed. Our evening is spent at the Zoete Inval Travellers Lodge.
