We then travel east towards the Makgadikgadi Pans, a large lake that was once fed by a river but has become saline and empty.

Approximately 37,000 square km of this area is dotted with palm islands and comprises a multitude of salt pans and vast grass plains. The Great Makgadikgadi comprises the largest area of salt pans in the world. After arriving in the lodge, we rest for the night.
