Namib Naukluft National Park and Sossusvlei – Namibia

Today is spent travelling through the Namib-Naukluft National Park en route to Sossusvlei. The Namib-Naukluft Desert is an ancient area with an ageless spirit. It boasts some of the most uncommon plant and wildlife in the world. The animals of this environment include the Oryx, Springbok and Hartmann’s Mountain Zebra.

The following morning we awake early to pay a visit to the world’s tallest sand dunes, located in Sossusvlei and Deadvlei. At sunrise and sunset these incredible dunes that sometimes reach over 300 metres, are positively incredible and make for amazing photographic opportunities. If luck is on our side, there might be some water in the vlei (lake). We also make a stop to view the gorgeous Sesriem Canyon, which was formed millions of years ago by the Tsauchab River.
