Kruger National Park – Mlilwane Wildlife Sanctuary, Swaziland

We depart from our private reserve today, making our way south along the edges of the Kruger National Park, passing through various farming towns and Shangaan settlements en route. Following a brief stopover in Nelspruit, the road leads us through luscious citrus farms before crossing the Crocodile River in order to enter the majestic Kingdom of Swaziland. The winding road takes us over lush, green mountain passes and through this landlocked Kingdom that is nestled between Mozambique and South Africa. We pass a wide assortment of craft markets on the way and pay an educational visit to the well-known Ngwenya glass factory. We skirt Mbabane, the capital, prior to our arrival at Mlilwane Wildlife Sanctuary, which will act as our camp base for the following two evenings. Mlilwane Wildlife Sanctuary is the oldest protected region in Swaziland, located in the beautiful Ezulwini Valley, meaning ‘Valley of Heavens’.
