Swakopmund to Skeleton Coast, Namibia

Continuing our exploration of the desert, we visit Skeleton Coast National Park, an area where hot desert sand meets the cold Atlantic Ocean waves. Over 200,000 Cape Fur Seals inhabit the renowned Seal Colony at Cape Cross, which is known as the largest in the world. The Cape Cross monument was erected in honour of the then king of Portugal by the explorer Diego Cao in 1486, where the first European explorer set foot on the coast of Namibia. We will spend the night in the Skeleton Coast National Park tonight. As a result, we will not be able to visit the seals at Cape Cross Colony at times because the colony may be inaccessible.
