Maun to Palapye, Botswana
We have an early start and travel a lengthy distance (roughly 450km) to the tiny town of Palapye, located midway between Francistown and the capital of Botswana, Gaborone. This well-known ‘stopover’ town for those on their way to South Africa is famous for the Morupele Colliery coal mines which provide energy to the Morupele Power Station, the main domestic source of electricity in Botswana.
