Endoro Lodge

Situated in the Ngorongoro Karatu region of northern Tanzania, Endoro Lodge borders the forest of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, and is a perfect midpoint between Arusha and the Serengeti. The Lodge offers guests deluxe accommodation that is comfortably furnished, with gorgeous views across the manicured garden to the forest. Facilities here include a lovely restaurant, a vegetable garden, hot water, luggage storage, bicycle rental, massage services, laundry facilities and a curio store. For those wishing to stretch their legs after a lengthy drive, the Endoro River Nature Trails offer a variety of trails for hiking, bird watching and game viewing. Guests at Endoro Lodge can also expect to spot frequent animal visitors around the area, including elephants!

There are eighteen spacious chalets available here, equipped with canopy beds and mosquito netting, as well as big windows that allow a flow of cool air and warm light throughout. Decorated with traditional and contemporary designs, each luxury unit has its own fireplace and modern bathroom, complete with a Jacuzzi-style bathtub and both indoor and outdoor showers. Stunning hardwood floors complement the warm wood tones of the locally produced furniture and bed covers. Spend your evenings here tucked in beneath cosy blankets, reading a book beside the crackling fire, or unwinding outside beneath the stars. Sitting around the campfire, with clear views of the sparkling skies with an array of constellations and planets, is a beautiful way to enjoy this unspoiled atmosphere of the endless African sky.

Double doors open to a private deck in each chalet, with phenomenal vistas of the morning sunrise and the Ngorongoro Forest below. It is here that travellers can truly experience a unique connection with nature, made even better by the friendly and attentive service of the expert staff. At Endoro Lodge, the restaurant insists upon perfection for both African and Western cuisine. With years of experience and a love for fine dining, guests can rest assured they will be fed well by the resident chef. Spend time observing the magnificent sunrise as the early morning mist floats slowly over the valley. After having spent a day exploring this fantastic region and embarking on adventures, an evening of good food and star-gazing is always a wonderful way to end the night.

Ngorongoro Crater is frequently referred to as ‘Africa’s Eden’, and ‘the 8th Natural World Wonder’. An enormous inactive volcano, the Crater’s soaring tree-lined walls drop thousands of feet to a myriad of wildlife on the lush floor below.  This spectacular setting provides a sanctuary for both predators and prey to reside among grasslands, fresh springs, and the huge soda lake. Big herds of zebra, buffalo, antelope and wildebeest graze leisurely whilst sleeping lions relax in the rays of the sun close by.  At dawn, the endangered black rhino makes its way back to the dense cover of the crater forests after having grazed on dew-laden grass during the morning mist. A visit to the Crater is unforgettable, as there is nowhere else on earth you can experience such a variety of wildlife in such a short amount of time.
