Kenya Airways has confirmed that it seeks to expand its dominance in East Africa by launching a few new routes. The airline company is planning to move into Lamu and Eldoret in Kenya, Malakal in South Sudan, the Kilimanjaro in Tanzania, as well as Mauritius and Cape Town.
Other routes include Beirut, Lebanon and the recently opened direct flights to New Delhi in India. Kenya Airways wants to create strong trade routes including destinations in India and China.
“We are looking at a selected number of other destinations in India. We want to do it soon, with new equipment we can venture into more destinations, move long-haul,” said Kenya Airways commercial manager Mohan Chandra.
To enable the expansion the airline is relying on a new Boeing 767 aircraft to enter into service in the next few weeks.
