Itinerary

Day 1: Maun – Okavango Delta, Botswana

Greetings from Botswana, Dumela! Your charter flight company representative will meet you at Maun Airport and help you board your connecting flight to the Okavango Delta. The beautiful landscapes of the Delta can be viewed on a clear day. As a result of the Okavango River, which never reaches the ocean, the Okavango Delta is formed. A remarkable landscape of rivers, lagoons, marshes, grasslands, and wooded islands is created when this river drains into the Kalahari. Upon landing, you will be transferred by boat directly to your camp after navigating a maze of waterways. Prior to your first activity, you will have the opportunity to relax and freshen up. A boat cruise through the Okavango Delta is a great way to explore your surroundings and observe the sunset over the water. Your accommodation for the next two nights, Setari Camp, awaits you in the evening with a delicious meal.

Meals: Dinner
Included Highlight: Flight to Okavango Delta, Delta Boat Cruise

Day 2: Okavango Delta, Botswana

There is a lot to look forward to on this exciting day, and it is best to get a head start on it. There are numerous activities available at your camp, and the following can be viewed as a possible suggestion for how to spend your day: Glide along the water in a traditional dugout canoe steered by a local poler for an unforgettable safari experience. Hundreds of species of birds can be found in the Okavango Delta. You can enjoy a unique perspective while silently gliding in a mokoro close to this birdlife. As the morning draws to a close, you return to your camp for brunch and some relaxation before the afternoon’s scheduled activities. Continuing your Okavango Delta water safari on a motor-powered boat, you return to the water. The Delta is home to a variety of animals, such as elephants, buffalo, hippopotamuses, crocodiles, predators, and antelopes. A full-day, guided walking safari can also be arranged along some of the islands of the Delta. The advantage of exploring nature on foot is that you can see nature from a different perspective and gain a better understanding of things that you might otherwise overlook. As you relax around the fire pit outside the Setari Camp after your evening meal, you will be able to enjoy the beautiful night sky above you for another evening at the camp.

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Included Highlights: Full day guided walking safari

Day 3: Okavango Delta – Maun, Botswana

Take advantage of the beautiful surroundings of your environment and, if time permits, take part in another activity. You may wish to go on another safari depending on the time of your flight or you may wish to visit the nearby village and meet the residents. After spending a wonderful time in the Okavango Delta, you are transferred back to the airstrip for your flight to Maun. When one adventure comes to an end, a new one is just around the corner. At the airport, you will be greeted by friendly faces and transferred to your accommodation, the Thamalakane River Lodge. Feel free to enjoy the lodge’s swimming pool during the rest of the afternoon at your leisure. Your safari guide will meet you in the evening, and he or she will also brief you on what awaits you over the next few days.

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Included Highlights: Visit to the village, Transfer flight to Maun

Day 4: Maun – Moremi Game Reserve, Botswana

Having enjoyed a delicious breakfast, you begin your journey north towards the Moremi Game Reserve and its surrounding concessions. There is no doubt that the Moremi Game Reserve area is one of the best game viewing areas in southern Africa. With its high populations of elephants and buffalos, as well as leopards and lions, the Moremi is home to the Big Five. Spotting a rhino in the wild is an extremely rare and rewarding experience. So, keep your eyes open when you are out on your game drive and you may very well encounter all five of the Big Five. Having trained eyes, your guide will be able to point out things that you may otherwise not have been aware of. You will enjoy a refreshing sundowner on the camp’s deck after your afternoon game drive, where you will be able to observe the animals coming to the waterhole to drink. In a concession area near the Moremi Game Reserve, you will spend the next two nights at the Mogogelo Camp.

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Included Highlight: Moremi Game Reserve, Afternoon Game Drive

Day 5: Moremi Game Reserve, Botswana

It is best to go on safari early in the morning, so jump into your custom-made 4×4 safari vehicle and drive into the Moremi Game Reserve. If you missed any animals yesterday, you should search for them today. The Moremi Reserve is also home to a significant population of African Wild Dogs due to its large size and the presence of private concessions nearby. The cheetah has a higher success rate when hunting than lions, leopards, or cheetahs because it hunts in packs and adapts its hunting technique based on the type of prey it encounters. It is possible to hunt impala, waterbucks, warthogs and even full-grown wildebeest in the Moremi. In the evening, you return to your camp where you will enjoy a delicious dinner at the Mogogelo Camp before retiring for the night.

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Included Highlights: Morning Game Drive

Day 6: Moremi Region – Savuti – Chobe Forest Reserve, Botswana

Since you have a long and exciting day ahead of you, you rise before the first light of day. You will be travelling to the legendary Savuti today, and although it is a long drive, possible wildlife sightings will accompany you along the way. Sankuyo and Mababe are two of the villages you pass through before reaching the mysterious Savuti. Lions and leopards are abundant in the region, making it an excellent safari destination. There has been increased interest in the Savuti as a result of recent wildlife documentaries that highlight the area’s elephant-hunting lions. It is approximately two hours north of the Savuti that you arrive at your camp, Thobolo’s Bush Lodge, after a day filled with game drives and hopefully many memorable sightings. A relaxing evening can be enjoyed here with an ice-cold beverage and a tasty dinner.

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Included Highlights: Savuti Game Reserve

Day 7: Chobe Forest Reserve – Chobe National Park – Kasane, Botswana

After breakfast, you may be eager to embark on your next adventure as you have become accustomed to the early Botswana start times. While traveling through the Chobe Forest Reserve and the Chobe Floodplains, you may be able to observe wildlife along the way. In the shade of a tree, you can enjoy a picnic lunch during lunchtime. After entering the Chobe National Park, you follow until you reach the Chobe River. Many elephants can often be seen coming up the riverfront in the Chobe National Park, which is considered to have the highest density of elephants in the world. It is no wonder why Chobe National Park is sometimes described as the “Land of Giants”, considering the sheer number of elephants that are present there. You will soon arrive at your accommodation after exiting the park. Once checked in, you have a bit of time to relax, before going onto the river for an afternoon boat cruise. The memories you hold of cruising on the Chobe River, seeing elephants, hippos, and buffalos on the water’s edge, with the setting sun sparkling on the water, will last a lifetime. At the end of the day, you return to your accommodation, the Old Guest House Lodge in Kasane, for the night.

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Included Highlights: Chobe Forest Reserve, Chobe Floodplains, Chobe National Park

Day 8: Chobe National Park, Botswana

We spend the entire day on safari in the Chobe National Park. It is likely that you will see some of the animals which you did not see the day before during your first game drive in the morning. In addition to elephants, Chobe National Park is also home to lions, leopards, African wild dogs, hyenas, giraffes, wildebeests, and zebras. In addition to the puku and red lechwe, numerous different species of antelope can also be sighted here. All year round, you can enjoy excellent bird watching in Chobe National Park. There are over 450 different species of birds in the park, including the African Skimmer, African Fish Eagle, Lilac Breasted Roller, and Pied, Half-collared, and Malachite Kingfisher, to name just a few. It is possible to return to the lodge for lunch since your lodge is located within a short distance of the park. Before going out on your second game drive in the afternoon, you are welcome to relax by the pool. You return to the Old House Guest Lodge in the evening for a second overnight stay.

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Included Highlights: Full Day game drive in Chobe National Park

Day 9: Kasane – Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe

Take advantage of a relaxing breakfast before bidding farewell to your guide. The transfer driver will meet you in the morning and take you across the border to Victoria Falls. Following your check-in to your accommodation, you will be treated to a private guided tour of the iconic “Vic Falls”. In all of its magnificent, natural beauty, this waterfall is one of the largest waterfalls in the world. You may also find some souvenirs in the Elephant Market in town if you are still looking for some. We invite you to enjoy dinner at the Ilala Lodge Hotel restaurant, where you will also be staying the night.
