Day 1: Maun – Okavango Delta, Botswana

Greetings from Botswana! Your charter flight company representative will meet you at Maun Airport and help you board your connecting flight to the Okavango Delta. The beautiful landscapes of the Delta can be viewed on a clear day. As a result of the Okavango River, which never reaches the ocean, the Okavango Delta is formed. A remarkable landscape of rivers, lagoons, marshes, grasslands, and wooded islands is created when this river drains into the Kalahari. Upon landing, you will be transferred by boat directly to your camp after navigating a maze of waterways. Prior to your first activity, you will have the opportunity to relax and freshen up. A boat cruise through the Okavango Delta is a great way to explore your surroundings and observe the sunset over the water. Your accommodation for the next two nights, Setari Camp, awaits you in the evening with a delicious meal.

Day 2: Okavango Delta, Botswana

There is a lot to look forward to on this exciting day, and it is best to get a head start on it. There are numerous activities available at your camp, and the following can be viewed as a possible suggestion for how to spend your day: Glide along the water in a traditional dugout canoe steered by a local poler for an unforgettable safari experience. Hundreds of species of birds can be found in the Okavango Delta. You can enjoy a unique perspective while silently gliding in a mokoro close to this birdlife. As the morning draws to a close, you return to your camp for brunch and some relaxation before the afternoon’s scheduled activities. Continuing your Okavango Delta water safari on a motor-powered boat, you return to the water. The Delta is home to a variety of animals, such as elephants, buffalo, hippopotamuses, crocodiles, predators, and antelopes. A full-day, guided walking safari can also be arranged along some of the islands of the Delta. The advantage of exploring nature on foot is that you can see nature from a different perspective and gain a better understanding of things that you might otherwise overlook. As you relax around the fire pit outside the Setari Camp after your evening meal, you will be able to enjoy the beautiful night sky above you for another evening at the camp.

Day 3: Okavango Delta – Maun, Botswana

Take advantage of the beautiful surroundings of your environment and, if time permits, take part in another activity. You may wish to go on another safari depending on the time of your flight. After spending a wonderful time in the Okavango Delta, you are transferred back to the airstrip for your flight to Maun. When one adventure comes to an end, a new one is just around the corner. At the airport, you will be greeted by friendly faces and transferred to your accommodation, the Thamalakane River Lodge. Feel free to enjoy the lodge’s swimming pool during the rest of the afternoon at your leisure. Your safari guide will meet you in the evening, and he or she will also brief you on what awaits you over the next few days.

Day 4: Maun – Moremi Game Reserve, Botswana

You start your adventurous safari day with a wildlife drive following a delicious breakfast. You traverse the entire Moremi Game Reserve, heading north from the southern region. In this manner, the various sections of the game reserve can be explored. Among the top safari locations in southern Africa is Moremi. The region is home to the Big Five, as well as large populations of buffalo and elephants. It is also typical to see lions and leopards in the area. However, seeing a rhino in the wild comes with a unique reward. Thus, keep an eye out on every game drive, and with any luck, you might just happen to spot all five of the Big Five. Because of their trained eyes, your guide will be able to point out things to you that you might not have even realized existed. It is afternoon when you arrive at your camp. Here, you may sip on a cool sundowner on the deck of the camp while observing the animals make their way to the Mbudi River for a drink. At the Mmatsebe Camp, located in a private concession north of Khwai, you spend the following two nights.

Day 5: Moremi Game Reserve, Botswana

One of the greatest times to go on safari is early in the morning, so get in your specially made 4×4 safari vehicle and explore the wilderness. You will tour either the animal-rich Khwai Region or the renowned Moremi Game Reserve, depending on the season and quantity of species. You look for any animals that you might have overlooked yesterday today. Owing to the expansive Moremi reserve and the neighboring private concessions, the area is also home to a sizable population of African wild dogs, who are among the continent’s most proficient hunters. They can outhunt lions, leopards, and cheetahs with far greater success rates because they hunt in packs and modify their tactics based on the prey. In this location, their prey includes impala, waterbuck, warthogs, and even mature wildebeest. When night falls, you head back to your camp. Once again, you will spend the night in the Mmatsebe Camp, where a delectable dinner and a restful night’s sleep await.

Day 6: Moremi Region – Savuti – Chobe Forest Reserve, Botswana

Since you have a long and exciting day ahead of you, you rise before the first light of day. You will be travelling to the legendary Savuti today, and although it is a long drive, possible wildlife sightings will accompany you along the way. Sankuyo and Mababe are two of the villages you pass through before reaching the mysterious Savuti. Lions and leopards are abundant in the region, making it an excellent safari destination. There has been increased interest in the Savuti as a result of recent wildlife documentaries that highlight the area’s elephant-hunting lions. It is approximately two hours north of the Savuti that you arrive at your camp, Thobolo’s Bush Lodge, after a day filled with game drives and hopefully many memorable sightings. A relaxing evening can be enjoyed here with an ice-cold beverage and a tasty dinner.

Day 7: Chobe Forest Reserve – Chobe National Park – Chobe Region, Botswana

You’ve probably adjusted to the early start hours in Botswana by now, and after breakfast you’re probably excited for the next adventure. Traveling through the Chobe Forest Reserve and the Chobe Floodplains offers the possibility of seeing wildlife when traveling through these areas. Lunch can be eaten alfresco under a tree that provides shade. After that, you continue to follow the Chobe River as you reach the Chobe National Park. Elephant densities in Chobe National Park are thought to be higher than any other place in the world, and large numbers of them may frequently be observed approaching the riverbank. It is understandable why Chobe National Park is frequently referred to as the “Land of Giants” when one considers the park’s enormous elephant population. You’re in for both big and tiny safari moments. You get back at your lodging, the Chobe Elephant Camp, in the evening.

Day 8: Chobe National Park, Botswana

In the Chobe National Park, safari takes up the entire morning. You could try to find some of the animals that you missed the previous day. Elephants are not the only animals seen in the Chobe National Park; lions, leopards, African wild dogs, hyenas, giraffes, wildebeest, and zebras are also there. Here, one may also witness a wide variety of antelope species, such as the red lechwe and the puku, which prefer the water. The year-round quality of the birds in Chobe National Park is exceptional. Among the more than 450 different species of birds found in the park are the pied, half-collared, and malachite kingfishers, to name just a few. Other remarkable birds are the African skimmer, African fish eagle, and lilac breasted roller. You take a boat ride on the Chobe River in the afternoon. These are the kinds of moments you won’t soon forget: As sunlight shimmers on the Chobe River, observe the arrival of elephants, hippos, and buffaloes. You stay at the Chobe Elephant Camp for an additional night.

Day 9: Chobe Region – Kasane – Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe

Have a leisurely morning before making your way to Kasane. At this point, you exit your 4×4 safari vehicle and board a transfer vehicle. You pass into Zimbabwe with the other participants, your guide, and your transfer driver. You drive to the Batonka Guest Lodge, which is your lodging in town. You are welcome to relax and check in for a bit. You have a tour of the well-known Victoria Falls waterfalls in the afternoon. The Victoria Falls are thought to be the largest waterfall on earth, measuring 1.7 km in length and 108 m in height. After that, you can explore the small town of Victoria Falls on foot or go to the large gift market. On your final night, you dine at a local restaurant in town (at your own expense) with your guide and fellow travelers. You stay at the Batonka Guest Lodge for the night.

Day 10: Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe

As you enjoy breakfast, you may reflect on all the wonderful things you have seen and experienced over the past few days. It is now time to begin your return journey, and you will be transferred to the Victoria Falls Airport during the course of the day. You have completed your tour of Chobe & Okavango Delta.
