Our 11 Day Best of Namibia safari (Inclusive) starts and ends in the capital city of Windhoek and heads south to the Namib Desert, before following an "off the beaten track" route to the desolate Skeleton Coast, complemented with a few days game viewing in the wildlife rich Etosha National Park. This accommodated tour provides bedding for all the nights. Accommodation may vary from tour depending on availability, similar standard properties will be provided. The tour requires participation from all group members. This entails assisting with the food preparation, washing of dishes and keeping the truck clean. Please keep in mind that flexibility and an open mind is needed on the trip. The guide is registered with the Field Guide Association of Southern Africa (FGASA). Itinerary
Day 1: Windhoek, Namibia
A short tour briefing will be conducted at 14h00 at the hotel before we set off for Windhoek on a tour of this bustling city. We will visit the local museum before enjoying a drink or two at Joe’s Beerhouse or a similar restaurant where we will continue our tour briefing and enjoy warm hospitality and an own expense dinner.

Day 2: Namib Desert Reserve, Namibia
After leaving the city lights behind, we enter the heart of the Namib, taking in its expansive plains, red dunes, towering mountains, and ever-changing landscapes.We travel into the heart of the Namib with its wide open plains, red dunes and huge mountains of stone.
Over the following two nights we stay in a desert lodge nestled against a rocky outcrop. This is a conservancy that is part of the Namib Rand Nature Reserve. We will have plenty of time to see the variety of desert-adapted ecology and wildlife as we go on various day and night game drives.

Day 3: Desert Reserve, Namibia
Waking up to the stillness of the desert that surrounds us is a wonderful way to begin the day. This is a protected wilderness that is subsidised by the tourism industry where animals roam freely over an area of 22 000 ha. Today our qualified guide will take you on an educational walk teaching you more about the animals that survive here in these natural surroundings. The rest of the day is at your leisure to explore the rest of the area. We embark on a desert drive later in the afternoon, stopping on the way to enjoy a sundowner while enjoying the sun setting. After sunset we make our way back to accommodation this evening.

Day 4: Sossusvlei Dunes, Namibia
Another early start as we head off across the endless desert plains on to Sesriem Canyon and the Sossusvlei dunes – the highest in the world. We will explore the canyon on foot for most of our journey, but will then use a 4×4 to cover the remaining area. We will climb awe-inspiring dunes before we end the day off at our accommodation in the desert.

Day 5 – 6: Swakopmund, Namibia
After crossing the Namib Naukluft Park we reach the dramatic Lunar Landscape peppered with ancient Welwitschia plants. Then it is off to Walvis Bay, a coastal town where we can spend some time by the Lagoon. Our journey continues as we head to Swakopmund where we will spend the following two nights in a comfortable lodge. There is plenty of time to explore this holiday town before sitting together and enjoying an evening meal at your own expense. There are optional activities here such as quad biking, sand boarding and sky diving. Both evening meals can be enjoyed at a local restaurant which will be for your own expense.

On the cards today is a trip to the barren Skeleton Coast – a scene of shipwrecks that washed up here years ago. Then we enjoy some time with a large Seal Colony at Cape Cross before setting off through the desert to see the bushman paintings in Brandberg. We also hope to see the rare desert elephants. We will sleep tonight at the foot of the mountain.

Day 9 – 10: Etosha National Park, Namibia
One of the highlights of our trip – Etosha National Park awaits us. Here we will spend two nights game viewing as there are so many animals to spot and things to learn about this Park. On one of the evenings we will go to a floodlit waterhole where the animals flock for a cool evening drink. On both nights we will stay in one of the comfortable rest camps. During these days we embark on extensive game drives, paying a visit to the waterholes within the park during the heat of the day and spending the entire time within the park.

Day 11: Windhoek, Namibia
We pack up this morning and head back to civilization in Windhoek. The drive will take us approximately 8 hours and we should arrive by 13h00. You are welcome to book a post tour night through us. If you are leaving in the afternoon, please allow for a check in time and an hour for the airport transfer.
