We will meet and transfer you to your lodge after your arrival at Maun International Airport. Outside of Maun on the way to the Okavango Delta lies the Thamalakane River Lodge.  You can spend the rest of the afternoon at leisure taking part in one of the Lodge’s many activities. The pre-departure meeting will take place at 18h00 this evening at the lodge with your guide and the rest of your group

Accommodation: Thamalakane River Lodge or similar

Day 2 - 3

Guma Lagoon Camp, Botswana

Our first stop today will be Etsha 13, on the western border of the Okavango Delta. The Kalahari Delta flows into the Kalahari Desert without reaching the coast, making it unique.
On the second day, we explore a network of water pathways through thick vegetation in mokoros (traditional dugout canoes), discovering a variety of birds and wildlife. During the 1 1/2 hour guided walk we will stop at a secluded island to see elephants, waterbuck, and other animals that live in this water-filled paradise.

Accommodation: Guma Lodge or similar (rooms with en-suite bathrooms, swimming pool, bar & restaurant)
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner

Day 4

Moremi Game Reserve, Botswana

We depart after breakfast via Maun for our camp, which is located in a private concession in the Greater Moremi area. During a game drive within this large area, it is not uncommon to see many different species of wildlife.
You can observe different species of game in different areas of the park based on the time of the year. From August to November is the best time to view wildlife at the end of the dry season or in the spring. Due to the animals migrating closer to the river, extra driving may be necessary during this season in order to provide the best game viewing. There is an abundance of birdlife in the summer, with exceptional sightings of wildfowl and raptors.

Accommodation: Bedouin Bush Camp or similar
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Day 5 - 6

Moremi Game Reserve, Botswana

We will have the opportunity to go on a game drive during the day. The Greater Moremi area will be explored on morning and afternoon game drives, where we hope to spot a variety of game that frequents the area.

Your guide will take you on a night drive after dinner, where you may spot some rare nocturnal animals.

Our next destination is the Moremi Game Reserve, one of the most beautiful and varied reserves in Africa with an unprecedented concentration of wildlife. Moremi Game Reserve offers unspoiled nature for the full day.

Accommodation: Bedouin Bush Camp or similar
Meals: Breakfast x 2, Lunch x2, Dinner x2

This mobile bush camp is located on a private concession in close proximity to the Moremi Game Reserve, a 2 hour drive from Maun. There are 12 comfortable tents positioned under big Acacia trees giving you a wonderful wildlife bush experience. The camp is also equipped with a homely and communal dining and bar area.

The tents are covered with Bedouin-style fly-sheets, offering guests protection from Botswana’s weather conditions and fashioning the camp with a distinctive nomadic appearance & atmosphere. The safari tent are equipped with twin beds, soft pillows and duvets. Doors and windows are fitted with mosquito screening and insect repellent is provided.

To limit the camp’s impact on the environment yet still afford the necessary comfort in the bush, the en-suite bathrooms are equipped with flush toilets and hot bucket showers. Please note that the camp is solar powered, and cameras and mobile phones can be charged in the communal areas should the power levels allow it.

At night the paths to your tents will be illuminated by lanterns and your guide will walk you back to your tent from the dining and bar area.

Day 7

Nata, Botswana

We then travel east towards the Makgadikgadi Pans, a large lake that was once fed by a river but has become saline and empty.

Approximately 37,000 square km of this area is dotted with palm islands and comprises a multitude of salt pans and vast grass plains. The Great Makgadikgadi comprises the largest area of salt pans in the world. After arriving in the lodge, we rest for the night.

Accommodation: Nata Lodge or similar (semi-permanent tented camp with en-suite bathrooms). Please note that there is no electricity at the camp.
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Day 8 - 9

Kasane / Chobe, Botswana

During the morning, we drive to Nata Bird Sanctuary where we can enjoy a spectacular view of the Sowa Pan, a part of the Greater Makgadikgadi Pans (please note a visit to the pans is subject to road conditions and water levels, as well as time constraints).

Following breakfast, we continue our journey to Kasane, the gateway to the Chobe National Park. Chobe National Park, Botswana’s second largest and covering 10,566 square kilometers, has one of the biggest concentrations of elephants on the continent.

Afternoons are free for optional activities or for relaxing by the pool.

You will start the following morning with a game drive in Chobe National Park. We will return to the lodge for a late breakfast and relaxation before our boat cruise on the Chobe River begins around 3pm.

A variety of birds can be seen here, as well as elephants, hippos, crocodiles, and a variety of antelope.

Accommodation: Chobe Safari Lodge or similar
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Day 10 - 12

Hwange National Park, Zimbabwe

Our journey today takes us across the border into Zimbabwe and onto our lodge in a private concession close to the Hwange National Park, where we will spend the next three nights.

If time permits, you can take part in an optional game drive this afternoon. On game drives the following two days, we will have ample opportunity to explore this vast wilderness.

One of Africa’s most renowned wildlife refuges is Hwange National Park, which is home to large herds of elephants, buffalo, and zebra, as well as a large population of giraffes.

Several predators and endangered species live here, as well as a variety of birdlife. In addition, we will pay a visit to the Painted Dog Conservation Centre to see how this endangered species is protected.

You can interact with the anti-poaching unit while you are there. These conservation warriors will share their motivations and answer any questions guests may have.
