Our journey starts in Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe at 07:30 today. We receive a full briefing of the tour by expert guides, after which we begin our travels west. We make our way across the border and into Namibia at Katima Mulilo, giving us a chance to make a stopover for a tasty lunch. We then journey further into Namibia’s Caprivi Strip to Camp Kwando or a similar lodge. This lodge has an exquisite view over the sparkling Kwando River, a tributary of the Chobe River, which created the divider between Botswana and Namibia.

Elephant, Kudu and other antelope are frequently spotted in this region. We make our way back to our lodge in the early afternoon where we have a brief rest before leaving for a midday cruise on the glittering Kwando River. When we arrive at our lodge, take some time to indulge in a lovely drink before being served a delicious dinner. An early night’s sleep is encouraged tonight.

We awake early to proceed west along the Caprivi Strip until we arrive at Poppa Falls, situated on the Okavango River. We embark on a nature walk through the bush to view the rapids close up, our last view of the majestic Okavango River before it makes its way into the Delta. From Poppa Falls we head to Botswana, heading into Mahango Game Reserve just before the border. Located on the floodplains of the Okavango River, Mahango Game Reserve is renowned for its sightings of Red Lechwe, Sable and Roan Antelope, along with various other animals. Departing this picturesque reserve, we have a brief stop at the border crossing back into Botswana and then make our way south to Nxamasere or a similar lodge for two evenings. Nxamasere is located in the Okavango Delta, overlooking a massive lagoon that gives the lodge its name.

We head to the mokoro station where our day of exploration in the centre of the Okavango Delta starts. Mokoros (traditional dug-out canoes) have been used by the Bayeyi River Bushmen for ages to navigate their way through the complex water channels of this fascinating region. This full day adventure gives us the chance to spot a large variety of birdlife and to view landscapes that most only dream of.

Take time to experience the lovely town in the afternoon – a renowned tourist centre of Northern Botswana. We spend our time in Northern Chobe, a Park which is abundant with game due to the Chobe River supplying water throughout the entire year. Massive elephant herds are frequently spotted wandering to and from the river. Because of the big concentrations of herbivores in this region, many predators such as lion and leopards can be seen here. We spend our evenings at a lodge in Kasane, from where we embark on a game drive into the Park in the early morning, as well as a river cruise on the glimmering Chobe River in the afternoon that allows for fantastic views of our surrounds.
