Chobe National Park was officially named a National Park in 1967. The Park is most likely most famous for its massive elephant herds which can reach numbers of up to 50,000. The Park is dominated by the beautiful Chobe River, which flows through the reserve and where wildlife is frequently seen wandering down for a drink. The different habitats in the Chobe National Park include floodplains, Mopani trees, baobab trees, acacia woodlands, and lush flood grasslands and thickets lining the Chobe River. Before the sun sets we will cruise along the river for some more game viewing. There is also an optional morning game drive (own expense).
