Day 1

Victoria Falls – Zimbabwe

When you reach Victoria Falls you will be transported to lodge where you will have the day free to spend however you like. In the night you will be introduced to your guides as well as your fellow travellers during the pre-departure meeting.

Accommodation: Lokuthula Lodges or similar (rooms with en-suite bathrooms, swimming pool, bar & restaurant)

Day 2 - 3

Victoria Falls to Chobe National Park – Botswana

We awake early for a guided tour of the majestic Victoria Falls, referred to by the local Kololo tribe as Mosi oa Tunya, or ‘the smoke that thunders’. In the late morning we travel from Victoria Falls through to Botswana, for the following two nights.

The next morning we rise early for a game drive in the Chobe National Park and in the afternoon we  embark on a fantastic cruise along the sparkling Chobe River. This is one of the most fantastic ways in which to game view, as well as to watch the gorgeous sunset. The second biggest National Park in Botswana, Chobe extends over 10,600 square kilometres and contains one of the biggest elephant populations in all of Africa.

Day 4

Eastern Caprivi – Namibia

Departing from Botswana, we journey through the Chobe National Park before making our way into Namibia and travelling through Caprivi to our camp situated on the Kwando Riverbanks. In the afternoon you can sit back and relax and take in your surroundings or you can choose from some of the many exciting optional activities on offer.

Day 5 - 6

Caprivi to Okavango Delta – Botswana

We depart from our camp at Caprivi for Etsha 13, located on the Okavango Delta’s western border. Different to other deltas, the Okavango runs into the Kalahari Desert never reaching the coast, making it extremely unique as the world’s biggest inland delta. Before we reach our campsite we will go on a game drive to the Mahungu National Park with its rich varieties of fauna and flora. Also expect to spot a variety of game such as elephants, hippo pods, buffalos and various antelope. There are also over 420 types of bird species in the area.

The following day is spent navigating our way through narrow water channels and dense plant life by means of mokoros (traditional dug-out canoes). During this outing you will spot a range of different birds and animals and we will make a stop at a remote island for an hour long guided walk, during which we will seek out elephants, waterbuck and other wild animals that have made this paradise their home.

Day 7

Okavango Delta to Kavango River – Namibia

Departing from Botswana, we travel into Namibia and journey along the Caprivi through to Rundu. We head to Kaisosi River Lodge where we spend our afternoon unwinding on the Kavango Riverbanks. Here there will be many Optional Activities available in which to partake, including a visit to the Mbunza Living Museum which is a traditional cultural school and a local business for the locals. Otherwise, feel free to put your feet up by the pool and enjoy a sundowner whilst basking in the beautiful sounds of nature.

Day 8 - 10

Etosha National Park – Namibia

This morning we make our way to Etosha National Park where we spend the following three days game driving, seeking out Africa’s Big Five as well as other game such as cheetah, giraffe, zebra and many different kinds of antelope that have made this Park their home. Our evenings will be spent at the floodlit waterholes where we will catch glimpses of the Park’s diverse animal collection that wander down for an evening drink. Established as a National Park in 1907, Etosha Game Park boasts around 114 mammals, 340 bird species, 110 reptiles, 16 amphibian species and one single species of fish.

Day 11

Kamanjab – Himba Experience – Namibia

We say our goodbyes to the beautiful wildlife of Etosha today and make our way to the incredibly stunning Damaraland. We end the day in Kamanjab.

Depending on the time that we reach the town, we will visit a traditional Himba Village in the afternoon or following morning. This will be an adventure of cultural exchanges as well as learning and understanding the last remaining tribe in Namibia, the Ova-Himba.

Day 12

Twyfelfontein, Petrified Forest and Brandberg – Namibia

On our adventure today we make a stop to view some ancient Bushmen (San) paintings at Twyfelfontein as well as the amazing Petrified Forest, the trees of which are thought to be 250 million years old. Twyfelfontein was declared a World Heritage site in 2007, the very first in the country. We then carry on through to Brandberg, the tallest mountain in Namibia. Either this afternoon or the following morning we embark on a walk to pay a visit to the ‘White Lady’, one of the most renowned rock paintings in the region. The footpath to the site provides an incredible vista over the Damaraland plains.

Day 13 - 14

Cape Cross Seal Colony and Swakopmund – Namibia

We travel west today, making our way over flat desert terrain to arrive at the cold Atlantic coastline. As we follow the Skeleton Coast en route to Swakopmund, we pay a visit to the Cape Cross Seal Colony, the biggest breeding area for Cape Fur Seals. We reach the pleasant seaside town of Swakopmund today, where you will have the chance to participate in a couple of incredible optional activities over the following two days. Otherwise, simply take this time to bask in the brilliant atmosphere of this charming town and soak in its splendour and sun-kissed beaches.

Day 15 - 16

Namib Naukluft National Park and Sossusvlei – Namibia

Today is spent travelling through the Namib-Naukluft National Park en route to Sossusvlei. The Namib-Naukluft Desert is an ancient area with an ageless spirit. It boasts some of the most uncommon plant and wildlife in the world. The animals of this environment include the Oryx, Springbok and Hartmann’s Mountain Zebra.

The following morning we awake early to pay a visit to the world’s tallest sand dunes, located in Sossusvlei and Deadvlei. At sunrise and sunset these incredible dunes that sometimes reach over 300 metres, are positively incredible and make for amazing photographic opportunities. If luck is on our side, there might be some water in the vlei (lake). We also make a stop to view the gorgeous Sesriem Canyon, which was formed millions of years ago by the Tsauchab River.

Day 17

Fish River Canyon – Namibia

We carry on to our lodging which is located nearby to the beautiful Fish River Canyon, the second biggest canyon on the planet. Later in the night we admire yet another incredible African sunset with spectacular vistas and picturesque views along the canyon’s rim.

Day 18 - 19

The Orange River – Namibia

We depart in the morning to make our way to our camp, situated on the Orange (Gariep) Riverbanks, the natural divider between South Africa and Namibia. We make a stop at Ai-Ais today, where thermal water rich in sulphates and fluorides and with a temperature of around 60 degrees Celcius surges from the springs. Ai-Ais means ‘burning water’ in the local Nama language. The following day we only journey by means of a canoe. Spend some time unwinding as you are carried along the sparkling Orange River by the currents.

Day 20

Orange River to The Cedarberg – South Africa

We head down the coast once crossing over the border into South Africa. In springtime a panoramic view of wildflowers will catch your eye in the famous Namaqualand region. Later that afternoon we camp for the evening at the foot of the mountain in the Cedarberg. Here you can unwind by the pool before dinnertime.

Day 21

Cedarberg Mountains – Cape Town – South Africa
