This 27 Day Overland Safari departs from the cosmopolitan city of Johannesburg where you can book an excursion to the township of Soweto. Then we hit the road to cross the border into Botswana for mokoro trips down the Okavango Delta. Then it is onto the magnificent Victoria Falls for a range of activities before we hit the beaches of Malawi. Zanzibar Express: You will stay in Stone Town when the rest of the group leave for the ferry. Tomorrow you will fly to Arusha to meet the group. Only breakfast included today.

Day 23: Bagamoyo – Arusha, Tanzania
Embark on a scenic journey in your Land Rover, traversing diverse landscapes as you make your way to Arusha. Keep your eyes peeled for stunning glimpses of Mount Kilimanjaro along the way. Nestled at the base of the majestic Mount Meru, Africa’s fifth highest peak, Arusha awaits your arrival.
Spend the afternoon preparing a small daypack for your upcoming three-day excursion to the Serengeti and Ngorongoro Crater. Remember to pack warm clothing for the chilly nights on the crater rim, along with insect repellent, sunscreen, and plenty of water. Bedding is provided, but feel free to bring your own sleeping bag for added comfort.
Zanzibar Express: Transfer this morning from your Stone Town hotel to the airport for a scenic flight to Arusha. Arrive in Arusha and transfer to the camp to meet back up with the group. Only breakfast and dinner included.

Today marks the beginning of your thrilling three-day, two-night safari adventure through Serengeti National Park and the wildlife-rich Ngorongoro Crater. Upgrade to specialized 4×4 7-seater safari vehicles, expertly guided by experienced drivers. These vehicles feature sliding windows and a large pop-up roof, ensuring optimal wildlife viewing. Smaller and more maneuverable than the Land Rover, these vehicles will allow us to navigate through wildlife areas with ease. Due to the smaller size, our group will be divided among several vehicles.

Pitch camp near the crater rim and immerse yourself in the breathtaking scenery for the rest of the day.
Please Note: Experience the magic of the Serengeti from a bird’s-eye view with an optional balloon safari. Your tour guide will provide confirmation of the activity date, as it may be subject to change. If you choose to participate in the balloon safari, you will miss the included morning wildlife safari drive with the group.
