We will make our way to the perfect vantage point of the Ngorongoro Crater. Then we will circle the crater and descend to the other side. A bumpy ride will take us to the Masaai villages as we make our way to the Serengeti National Park. The Naabi Hill entrance gate gives us a fantastic viewpoint across the plains of the Serengeti. It is then off to the Seronera Area in the central part of the Serengeti where you can look out for the ‘Big Five’. Lunch will be taken en-route.
We will arrive at the Kati Kati Tented Camp in the late afternoon. This is a secluded camp which is perfect for listening to the call of the wild under the glistening starry skies. Day 3: Serengeti National Park
We will have a hearty breakfast to fill us up for a game drive in the Serengeti National Park. Lunch will be at a lovely picnic spot. Depending on the time of the year you may be able to witness the great migration where thousands of wildebeests, zebras and Thompson gazelles head for greener pastures. During October and November it is the rainy season and you will see the animals moving from the Kenyan Masai Mara through to the northwest. April, May and June brings heavy rain and so the herds travel back to the western and north-western part of the Serengeti. With all these animals a large presence of predators are in tow and kills might be seen. We return to Kati Kati camp for what we hope will be a time of sharing the action that you saw during the day.
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Please note that if you are travelling between January and March the Kati Kati Tented Camp is close to the border where a mass of herds can be seen during their migration.
Day 4: Serengeti National Park – Ngorongoro Crater – Karatu
Daybreak will have us rising to the rays of sun and enjoying breakfast. We head off from the Serengeti to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. The lions, leopards and cheetahs are usually very active in the cooler hours. We will enjoy a picnic lunch in a designated area. We will reach the crater’s edge and hold on as we descend into it for an adventurous journey. The crater is packed with over 25 000 animals including lion, elephant, buffalo, rhino and leopard. We will then ascend the crater and drive to Karatu where we will overnight at the Ngorongoro Farm House.
This is an old colonial farm that has been carefully made with hand-picked rustic materials to give you a feeling of the old days when it was built.
