Itinerary

Day 1: Halali inside Etosha National Park, Namibia

We leave the Backpackers Lodge in Windhoek at around 08h00. We make a short stopover in Otjiwarongo and have lunch before making our way into Etosha National Park via the Anderson Gate. We spend our day game driving through the Park and paying visits to waterholes in search of predators and animals such as zebra, giraffe, elephant and rhino. We reach our accommodation situated inside of Etosha National Park just before the sun sets. There is a beautiful floodlit waterhole that neighbours the camp. We spend the evening in twin-shared double rooms with en-suite bathroom facilities. We then sit down to supper and get an early night’s rest for the day ahead.

Meals: Snack pack, Dinner
Accommodation: Halali Camp

Day 2: Etosha Village outside Etosha National Park, Namibia

We awake early today for a light breakfast before the sun rises and then embark on a game drive till about midday where we fill our tummies again. Another game drive takes us to various populated waterholes before we return to Halali for a picnic lunch. We then continue game driving through the park in search of the Big 4 as well as the wildlife on the plains. We reach Okaukuejo in the early evening and depart from the Park just before sunset, paying one last visit to a waterhole to admire the incredible African sunset. We spend the night in twin share permanent tents with en-suite bathroom facilities, situated just outside of the Park. Supper tonight will be cooked over the campfire where you can exchange stories with fellow travellers of your wildlife encounters.

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Accommodation: Etosha Village

Day 3: Swakopmund, Namibia

We have an early breakfast today and leave our lodge at 07h40 for our journey through the communal plains of Damaraland (Kunene Region). We make a stopover at the Ugab River Bridge to pay a visit to the stunning Herero women who sell their lovely artworks in order to support their families. We indulge in a delicious lunch in the Brandberg Mountain’s shadow and pay a brief visit to the Himba group who have migrated to this region in order to sell their craft items. Following lunch we make our way through the Namib Desert and make a stop over at the latest shipwreck on the Skeleton Coast before reaching Swakopmund in the early evening. Exploring this coastal town on foot at midday is a wonderful way to spend the afternoon and you are encouraged to visit the jetty for sundowners overlooking the cold Atlantic Ocean. In the evening you can visit one of the lovely local restaurants for a delicious dinner (own expense).

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch
Accommodation: Hotel A La Mer

Day 4: Desert Camp, near Sesreim, Namibia

Following a good breakfast, we encourage you to pay a visit to the museum or aquarium, or for those seeking more of a thrill, a two hour sand boarding experience through the dunes is recommended. We leave Swakopmund in the afternoon and travel through the Namib Desert through the Kuiseb Canyon and Solitaire. We reach our camp in the early evening, when we will have time to unwind and bask in our gorgeous surrounds before embarking on a brief sunset walk that provides incredible vistas of the Naukluft mountain range. We spend the night in twin rooms or permanent tents that are equipped with en-suite bathroom facilities. Enjoy the facilities of the pool and bar while the guide prepares your dinner.

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Accommodation: Desert Camp

Day 5: Desert Camp near Sesriem, Namibia

Today we leave before sunrise to reach the Park’s gate. We then travel down an old river bed encircled by enormous sand dunes and climb aboard 4X4 shuttles to be transferred into Sossusvlei. Here we can fully appreciate the splendour of this area, especially early in the morning, as well as bask in the quiet serenity surrounding us. We traverse this incredible region on foot before making our way into Deadvlei, comprised of an abundance of whitened and cracked clay and bare camel thorn trees that are in harsh contrast to the setting of the massive dunes with their constantly changing colours.

As we head back to our campsite, we stop over at the renowned Dune 45 where we have a chance to either hike up the dune or simply roam around its base. We make our way back to Sesriem and pay a visit to the nearby Sesriem Canyon, one of the limited permanent water sources before reaching our lodging in the early evening to witness the spectacular sunset over the vast desert. We spend our evening in twin share rooms or permanent tents with en-suite bathrooms.

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Accommodation:  Desert Camp

Day 6: Windhoek, Namibia

After breakfast this morning we make our way to back to Windhoek via Solitaire Guest Farm where a biologist will take us on a walk to track cheetahs in the Namib Conservation Centre. We then return to Rehoboth via the Naukluft mountains. You will then be taken to your accommodation in Windhoek. If you require a transfer, this will be at an additional cost. We recommend you do not book a flight that departs before 17h00 because there may be delays on the safari.

Meals: Breakfast
