Upon arrival at your hotel in the late morning, your driver greets you with a smile and you begin your journey from Victoria Falls to Kasane. It is recommended that you spend at least one night in Victoria Falls before beginning your journey. If you require assistance in booking the ideal pre-safari accommodations, please do not hesitate to contact us. Your safari guide will meet you upon your arrival at your accommodation upon crossing the border from Zimbabwe into Botswana. After your check-in, you can relax in your temporary home overlooking the mighty Chobe River and look forward to your boat cruise later in the day. As you stroll along the riverbank, you have the opportunity to observe the wildlife that comes to enjoy the afternoon sun. A delicious dinner awaits you at the Chobe River Lodge in Kasane, your accommodation on your classic Botswana safari adventure.

Meals: Dinner
Included Highlights: Chobe Boat Cruise
Distance: Approximately 90 km; driving time approx. 1,5 hours

Day 2: Chobe National Park, Botswana

Before you depart for your safari, enjoy a delicious breakfast. As you enter the Chobe National Park with your guide by your side and in the optimal 4×4 safari vehicle, you are accompanied by your guide. The elephant population in this park is unparalleled in any other park. Approximately 40,000 elephants call Chobe National Park home, making it the area with the highest elephant density in the world. Due to this reason, Chobe National Park is often referred to as “The Land of Giants”. You spend the entire morning in the park, admiring lions, buffalos, antelopes and other small creatures as well. You can return to your lodge for lunch and spend some time relaxing by the pool since your lodge is within walking distance of the park. In the afternoon, you take a game drive in order to identify any animals you may have missed on the morning drive. A second night is spent at Chobe River Lodge.

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Included Highlights: Morning and Afternoon Game Drive in Chobe National Park
Distance and driving time: Depends on the route chosen on game drive

Day 3: Kasane – Chobe National Park – Chobe Forest Reserve, Botswana

There will be plenty of opportunities for you to view wildlife during the day. On your game drive today, you will travel from Kasane to Ngoma along the Chobe River. Upon entering the Chobe National Park again, you continue your journey where you left off the previous day. As the elephants splash around in the water, you can observe them drinking, cooling off and playing. On today’s morning game drive, keep an eye out for the water-loving red lechwe and the rare puku antelope. The Chobe Forest Reserve is reached after leaving the park at the Ngoma gate. A picnic lunch is enjoyed along the way in the lovely outdoor setting. Mid-afternoon finds you arriving at your lodge, Thobolo’s Bush Lodge, with a number of new safari impressions. On the viewing deck, enjoy a cool sundowner while watching elephants, buffalos and other wildlife arrive for a drink at the waterhole.

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Included Highlights: Morning game Drive in Chobe National Park, Chobe River, Chobe Forest Reserve
Distance: Approximately 130 km; direct driving time approx. 2-3 hours + game drives

Day 4: Chobe Forest Reserve – Savuti – Moremi Region, Botswana

Having enjoyed a delicious breakfast, you begin your journey towards the Savuti and its surrounding concessions. There is no doubt that the Savuti and Moremi Game Reserve area is one of the best game viewing areas in southern Africa. With its high populations of elephants and buffalos, as well as leopards and lions, it is home to the Big Five. Spotting a rhino in the wild is an extremely rare and rewarding experience. So, keep your eyes open when you are out on your game drive and you may very well encounter all five of the Big Five. Having trained eyes, your guide will be able to point out things that you may otherwise not have been aware of. The mysterious Savuti channel shaped and continues to shape the surreal Savuti landscape. There have been many instances where the channel flowed for many years, bringing water to the region, and then it suddenly dried up and remained dry for an indefinite period of time. Despite this, nature always finds a way to demonstrate its impressive resilience. There is something fascinating about every safari in the Savuti. As you leave Savuti through the Mababe Gate, you may see many new species of wildlife. You arrive at Nokanyana Camp after a long and rewarding day of game viewing, where you will enjoy a tasty dinner and rest well.

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Included Highlights: Savuti
Distance: Approximately 150 km; direct driving time approx. 5-6 hours + game drives

Day 5: Moremi Game Reserve, Botswana

A new safari day awaits us. The Moremi Game Reserve is one of Botswana’s most iconic wildlife areas, and today you will be able to take part in one of the most unique game drives of your life. Wildlife, including the Big Five, can be found in abundance in the region. Aside from this, it is also a very good location for observing African wild dogs. These rarely seen animals require wide-open spaces in order to roam freely within the Moremi and its surrounding private concessions. Besides the tsessebe antelope, you may also encounter a roan antelope and a sable antelope, as well as lions, leopards, elephants, giraffes, and cheetahs if you are fortunate. Having a well-trained guide who has excellent spotting skills will help make your safari an unforgettable experience. You return to your lodge in the afternoon. Watch the animals come to drink at the local watering hole as the sun sets on another memorable day from the camp’s lookout deck. A second night is spent at the Nokanyana Camp

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Included Highlights: Moremi Game Reserve
Distance and driving time: depends on the route chosen on game drive

Day 6: Moremi Region – Maun, Botswana

Taking advantage of the cool morning temperatures, you embark on another morning game drive around your lodge. There is a possibility that you may encounter something that you have never seen before today. As you travel through the bush landscape of Botswana, you will primarily follow a southerly direction. Your accommodation, the Thamalakane River Lodge, will be available to you early in the afternoon, so you can enjoy the afternoon at your leisure. You are invited to take a refreshing swim in the lodge’s swimming pool, which is located on the banks of the Thamalakane River, just outside of Maun. Consider taking a scenic flight over the Okavango Delta as an afternoon activity if you will not be continuing your travels into the Okavango Delta. We will be happy to provide you with further information if this is the case. Before relaxing around the campfire and overlooking the river, conclude this wonderful day with another delicious dinner.
