Itinerary

Day 1: Nairobi – Tsavo West National Park, Kenya

We meet in Nairobi, the capital of Kenya, where you will be briefed on your upcoming safari. You will then embark on your safari across Kenya in your Toyota Land Cruiser 4X4. We leave the hustle and bustle of the capital behind as we travel towards Tsavo West National Park. Within a few kilometers of leaving the city, nature takes over and the skyscrapers get replaced by shrubs and grasslands. Tsavo West is only a short drive away, so you will be able to embark on your first game drive in the afternoon. It is surprising how many animals you can spot on your first day! One of Kenya’s largest national parks, Tsavo West is home not only to the Big Five, but also to more than 600 different bird species. It is also home to the rare Hunter’s hartebeest. Severin Safari Camp will be your first stop for the night.

Day 2: Tsavo West National Park – Amboseli National Park, Kenya

You will begin your day in the bush at an early hour. Severin Safari Camp is unfenced and located near the Mzima Springs, a natural freshwater spring that transforms the surrounding desert landscape into an oasis, drawing many animals to it. You will have the opportunity to do a game drive exploring this wildlife haven before heading north to Amboseli National Park. During your afternoon game drive in the iconic Amboseli at the Tanzanian border, known for its large elephant herd, you can expect to see different landscapes and animals. Enjoy the hospitality of the Ol Tukai Lodge, your home for the next two nights, following another exciting day of exploration.

Allow yourself to fully immerse in this magical setting and forget about the rest of the world. In Africa’s highest mountain, Mount Kilimanjaro, elephant herds march among the acacia trees while birds ride on their backs. Kenya’s most popular park is regarded as one of the country’s most impressive sights. There are lions, buffaloes, wildebeests, zebras and waterbucks living in the open grasslands and wetlands. In addition to finding and observing the animals with your guide, you will also gain an understanding of their behaviour and social structure. Your journey to the Ol Tukai Lodge will begin as the shadows lengthen.

Day 4: Amboseli National Park – Lake Naivasha, Kenya

Once again this morning, take in the magnificent views of the Amboseli wetlands and the majestic Kilimanjaro in the distance. On the fourth day of your Kenya safari, you may experience a change in scenery as you travel north. Our destination for today will be the tranquil Lake Naivasha, one of the few freshwater lakes within the Great Rift Valley. In addition to being home to many rose farms, the economic driver of the region, Naivasha is known as the flower capital of Kenya. After an impressive array of wildlife adventures over the past few days, it is now time to relax – you can spend the afternoon as you wish. Book and enjoy a boat trip on the lake offerering you the opportunity to view hippos and bird life, or you can simply stroll around the lodge’s grounds or relax by the pool. Take some time to reflect on your experiences and what lies ahead. The Naivasha Sopa Lodge will be your home for the night.

Day 5: Lake Naivasha – Masai Mara, Kenya

Having enjoyed a relaxing day in Naivasha, you will now head to another Kenyan highlight: the world-famous Masai Mara. For many East Africans and tourists alike, the Mara is a symbol of the wildlife experience in the region. Africa’s most famous attraction is the Great Migration, during which millions of wildebeest and zebras migrate in search of fresh green grass following the rains. Regardless of the season you visit the Mara, you will have the opportunity to see elegant giraffes, proud lions, the world’s fastest land animal, the cheetah, along with many other animals on today’s afternoon game drive. You will spend the next two nights at Tipilikwani Mara Camp, located along the banks of the Talek River and surrounded by trees.

Day 6: Masai Mara Game Reserve, Kenya

A perfect morning has to include waking up in the middle of nature. One advantage of a stay at the Masai Mara is the opportunity to enjoy a full day of game viewing. Today is a lucky day for you, as you can do both. When spending the day in the Mara, you will have ample opportunity to explore the reserve, including an excursion to the Mara River. Wildebeest and zebras plunge into the waters of the river when the Great Migration passes through Kenya to be devoured by hungry crocodiles. Discover and apply your newly acquired knowledge about the flora and fauna of Kenya as you spend the day experiencing the small moments that make each safari unique. Your last night in the bush will be spent at Tipilikwani Mara Camp.
