Approximately 40,000 elephants call Chobe National Park home, making it the area with the highest elephant density in the world. Due to this reason, Chobe National Park is often referred to as “The Land of Giants”. Your guide will share fascinating facts and anecdotes about the park’s animals. Upon entering the Chobe National Park again, you continue your journey where you left off the previous day. As the elephants splash around in the water, you can observe them drinking, cooling off and playing. On today’s morning game drive, keep an eye out for the water-loving red lechwe and the rare puku antelope. The Chobe Forest Reserve is reached after leaving the park at the Ngoma gate. A picnic lunch is enjoyed along the way in the lovely outdoor setting. Mid-afternoon finds you arriving at your lodge, Thobolo’s Bush Lodge, with a number of new safari impressions. Day 5: Chobe Forest Reserve – Savuti – Moremi Region, Botswana
Having enjoyed a delicious breakfast, you begin your journey towards the Savuti and its surrounding concessions. There is no doubt that the Savuti and Moremi Game Reserve area is one of the best game viewing areas in southern Africa. With its high populations of elephants and buffalos, as well as leopards and lions, it is home to the Big Five. Spotting a rhino in the wild is an extremely rare and rewarding experience. So, keep your eyes open when you are out on your game drive and you may very well encounter all of the Big Five. Having trained eyes, your guide will be able to point out things that you may otherwise not have been aware of. The mysterious Savuti channel shaped and continues to shape the surreal Savuti landscape. There have been many instances where the channel flowed for many years, bringing water to the region, and then it suddenly dried up and remained dry for an indefinite period of time. Despite this, nature always finds a way to demonstrate its impressive resilience. There is something fascinating about every safari in the Savuti. As you leave Savuti through the Mababe Gate, you may see many new species of wildlife. You arrive at Mmatsebe Camp after a long and rewarding day of game viewing, where you will enjoy a tasty dinner and rest well.

Day 6: Moremi Game Reserve, Botswana
A new safari day awaits us. The Moremi Game Reserve is one of Botswana’s most iconic wildlife areas, and today you will be able to take part in one of the most unique game drives of your life. Wildlife, including the Big Five, can be found in abundance in the region. Aside from this, it is also a very good location for observing African wild dogs. These rarely seen animals require wide-open spaces in order to roam freely within the Moremi and its surrounding private concessions. Besides the tsessebe antelope, you may also encounter a roan or sable antelope, as well as lions, leopards, elephants, giraffes, and cheetahs if you are fortunate. Having a well-trained guide who has excellent spotting skills will help make your safari an unforgettable experience. You return to camp in the afternoon. Watch the animals come to drink at the local watering hole as the sun sets on another memorable day from the camp’s lookout deck. A second night is spent at the Mmatsebe Camp

Your accommodation, the Thamalakane River Lodge, will be available to you early in the afternoon, so you can enjoy the afternoon at your leisure. You are invited to take a refreshing swim in the lodge’s swimming pool, which is located on the banks of the Thamalakane River, just outside of Maun. Consider taking a scenic flight over the Okavango Delta as an afternoon activity if you will not be continuing your travels into the Okavango Delta.
