Day 1

Greater Kruger National Park, South Africa

We depart from Johannesburg early today, journeying through the Mpumalanga province on our way to the magnificent Kruger National Park. Once you’ve settled in, you will be briefed on what lies ahead on your journey. An opportunity to take an optional sunset drive is made available this afternoon however booking is essential.

Day 2 - 3

Kruger National Park, South Africa

This morning we make our entrance into the world famous Kruger National Park, where we head off for an afternoon game drive. The entire day is spent game viewing from the advantageous height of our magnificent vehicle. The evening is free to take an optional sunset game drive. The following day we wake up early in the morning to make our way along the Panorama Route. An optional morning walk is made available for those wanting an earlier start to the day. Admiring the beautiful views at the Blyde River Canyon, Gods Window and Bourkes Luck Potholes.

Day 4

Swaziland – Mlilwane Wildlife Sanctuary, Swaziland

We will go on a final game drive today, as we leave the Kruger. After this, we drive to Swaziland, taking breaks en route at a fascinating local market. Swaziland is a landlocked country bordered by South Africa and Mozambique. Our evening will be spent in the Mlilwane Nature Conservation. Exploring the region on foot, this gives you the chance to enjoy the scenery as well as the wildlife; there are no dangerous predators here.

Day 5

Isimangaliso, Greater St Lucia Park, South Africa

This morning we enjoy a morning hike before departing from Swaziland. We go on a scenic drive near the turquoise Indian Ocean coast, re-entering South Africa.Reaching iSimangaliso Wetland Park there are a variety of optional activities on offer here  such as mountain biking and visiting the Chief’s traditional village are a few to mention. This UNESCO recognised region is extremely diverse and includes lakes, beaches, coral reefs, wetlands, woodlands, coastal forests and grasslands that altogether support an astounding diversity of animal, bird and marine life. The afternoon is free to partake in a Zulu Cultural experience where you will be taught basic Zulu language and enjoy a local beer made from the local Ilala Palm.

Day 6 - 7

Hluhluwe – Umfolozi Game Reserve and Durban, South Africa

In the morning we travel to the Hluhluwe-Umfolozi Game Reserve for a game drive in open 4×4 vehicles. The park is the only conservation area managed by the state in the province of KwaZulu-Natal, where all the Big Five can be found. The park now has the largest population of white rhino in the world, due to conservation efforts. We climb aboard a boat in the afternoon to embark on a delightful sunset cruise along the lagoon for some bird and hippo spotting. At the end of the afternoon, we reach the lively city of Durban – South Africa’s most famous surfing spot. We will spend our night in the centre of the city, giving you the chance to taste the Indian cuisine and enjoy this coastal city’s vibrant nightlife.

Day 8 - 9

Ukhahlamba Drakensberg Park, South Africa

We drive away from the beautiful beaches of KwaZulu-Natal and travel inland to the Ukhahlamba Drakensberg, or Royal Natal National Park, part of the huge and incredibly scenic Drakensberg escarpment. The Drakensberg Mountains is comprised of South Africa’s highest and most incredible mountains. We explore the mountain trails and take our time to enjoy the breathtaking sights in the Ukhahlamba Drakensberg (Royal Natal) National Park. On our second day, we go for a guided hike to see some of the renowned San rock paintings.

Day 10 - 11

Lesotho – Malealea, Lesotho

Today we will make our entrance into the incredible mountain kingdom of Lesotho. Passing through the Golden Gate National Park before reaching our destination in the afternoon. Lesotho is one of the world’s highest countries, lying over 1000m above sea level. The following day we wake up early and are given an opportunity to partake in an optional Pony Trekking Excursion through the secluded hills of Lesotho, accompanied by local guides. On your way back to our camping site, the group will visit the local village and school. You can also choose to remain at the lodge and relax, or experience an optional shorter ride.

Day 12

South Africa – Graaff Reinet, South Africa

Making our way back to South Africa, we journey across the mountaneous regions to the Great Karoo. This area is the heartland of the rural Southern Africa. Camp this evening is set in the historical town of Graaff-Reinet, known to be the fourth oldest town in the country.  Crossing the Orange River today we journey through the countryside making our way to the Karoo. You have the opportunity to enjoy an optional sundowner excursion to the Valley of Desolation this evening.

Day 13

Addo Elephant National Park, South Africa

This morning you are joined by a local guide who takes you on a historical tour of Graaf-Reinet before making your way to Addo Elephant National Park. This exclusive Eastern Cape Nature Reserve is home to one of the densest populations of African elephants in the world. This park is just as much a marine park as it is a land park, giving you the opportunity to spot the ‘Big Seven’ (elephant, rhino, lion, buffalo, leopard, southern right whale and great white shark). Accommodation for the night will be on a private game lodge just outside of the park.
