Itinerary

Day 1

Addo Elephant National Park, South Africa

We begin our tour today, travelling to the third largest National Park of South Africa, the Addo Elephant National Park. This Park is home to many of Africa’s big game. Our vehicle gives us a better view on our game drive during the afternoon, especially for the photographers amongst us.

Day 2

Graaff Reinet, South Africa

We leave the Addo National Park today  and we travel to the heartland of the Great Karoo. Upom arrival we enjoy a historical walking tour with out local guide where you will be introduced to the enriching history of the fourth oldest town in South Africa ‘ the gem of the Karoo”. An optional sundowner visit to the Valley of Desolation is available this evening for those wanting to participate in the activity.

Day 3 - 4

Lesotho – Malealea, Lesotho

Today we will make our entrance into the incredible mountain kingdom of Lesotho. Lesotho is one of the world’s highest countries, lying over 1000m above sea level. The following day we wake up early and are given an opportunity to partake in a Pony Trekking Excursion through the secluded hills of Lesotho, accompanied by local guides. On your way back to our camping site, the group will visit the local village and school.

Day 5 - 6

South Africa – Ukhahlamba Drakensberg Park, South Africa

The Drakensberg Mountains range is comprised of South Africa’s highest and most incredible mountains. We explore the mountain trails and take our time to enjoy the breathtaking sights in the Ukhahlamba Drakensberg (Royal Natal) National Park. On our second day, we go for a guided hike to see some of the renowned San rock paintings.

Day 7

KwaZulu-Natal Coast – Durban, South Africa

We will travel downwards as we leave the mountains and make our way to the KwaZulu-Natal Coast. The lively city of Durban is South Africa’s most famous surfing spot. We will spend our night in the centre of the city and it is here that you will get the chance to taste the spicy Indian cuisine and enjoy this coastal city’s vibrant nightlife.

Day 8

iSimangaliso Wetland Park, South Africa

This morning is spent at leisure enjoying the picturesque beaches and Indian Ocean. If you looking for more excitement, feel free to visit Ushaka Marine World. Leaving the city behind we make our way along the beautiful coastline to Zululand. Later in the day we have a chance to participate in an enriching Zulu Cultural Evening. Here you are taught how to greet in the Zulu language, count as well as enjoy a sample of the local beer made from the local Ilala Palm.

Day 9

Hluhluwe – Umfolozi Game Reserve, South Africa

In the morning we travel to the Hluhluwe-Umfolozi Game Reserve for a game drive in open 4×4 vehicles. The park is the only conservation managed by the state in the province of KwaZulu-Natal, where all the Big Five can be found. The park now has the largest population of white rhino in the world, due to conservation efforts. In the afternoon, we cross the border into Swaziland and enjoy a boat cruise on St Lucia estuary.

Day 10

Swaziland – Mlilwane Wildlife Sanctuary, Swaziland

Mlilwane Wildlife Sanctuary is Swaziland’s oldest sanctuary, covering a surface of 4,560 hectares. No predators can be found in this section, which gives the opportunity for self-guided hikes. Hiking is a terrific way to get close to nature and wildlife. Take time participating in the mountain biking or visiting the Chief’s village.

Day 11 - 12

South Africa – Kruger National Park, South Africa

Start the day with a nature walk and we visit a craft market before making our way across the border into South Africa again today and continue to travel to the Greater Kruger National Park for two memorable days of game driving. The Greater Kruger National Park is home to Africa’s Big 5 as well as plenty of other African animal species. Our vehicle gives us a height advantage to take better photographs of the incredible area. We will have several game drives to get the chance to spot as much wildlife as possible. The following day offers an optional evening game drive.

We begin the morning with  a nature walk and visiting a craft market before crossing the border into South Africa again today and continue to travel to the Greater Kruger National Park for two memorable days of game driving. The Greater Kruger National Park is home to Africa’s Big 5 as well as plenty of other African animal species. Our vehicle gives us a height advantage to take better pictures of the incredible area. We will have several game drives to get the chance to spot different animal wildlife. The evening of the next day is free to take an optional game drive.

Day 13

Greater Kruger Area, South Africa

We will make the most of our day game driving through the Park. Today you have the opportunity of experience Kruger in an optional open 4×4 safari vehicle. Enjoy an optional sunset drive this afternoon. For those not participating in the 4×4 game drive, you enjoy a game drive through the park in a truck with your guide.

Day 14

Panorama Route – Johannesburg, South Africa

Our final day will be spent driving along the scenic Panorama Route, stopping for incredible views of Blyde River Canyon, God’s Window and Bourke’s Luck Potholes. The tour will finish once we reach Johannesburg, although most will enjoy an optional dinner out on our last night together.
