Itinerary
Day 1: Arusha – Tarangire National Park, Tanzania
A short briefing will precede your trip to Tarangire National Park in the morning. Elephant herds roam the savannah, baobab trees, seasonal swamps, and lagoons of the park. From giraffes, bushbucks and hartebeests to the weird-looking gerenuks and fringe-eared oryx, you can see a variety of mammals at the life-giving Tarangire River. Buffaloes, zebras and wildebeests are also found in the park, which is closely followed by lions and other predators. There are occasional sightings of leopards, but cheetahs are seldom seen. As you watch the animals from the safari vehicle’s open roof, you will be able to absorb the landscape. You will spend the night in a tent at a campsite inside the park, where you will arrive late afternoon.

Day 2: Tarangire National Park – Lake Natron, Tanzania
The first thing you will do after breakfast is leave Tarangire National Park and drive to Mto wa Mbu, a multicultural village in that region. Continuing along a very bumpy gravel road along the Rift Valley Escarpment with Ol Doinyo Lengai at your back, you will reach the scenic landscape of the Rift Valley Escarpment and Ol Doinyo Lengai, “the holy mountain” of the Maasai. In the hot and dusty Rift Valley, we will visit the beautiful Masai village of Ngare Sero. A pink glow can be seen in the distance from thousands of flamingos breeding and eating algae in Lake Natron. Afterward, you will walk to a nearby waterfall with a Maasai guide before returning to the campsite.

Day 3: Lake Natron – Serengeti National Park, Tanzania
As your vehicle climbs out of the Rift Valley, you will admire breath-taking views along adventurous dirt tracks as you reach the grassy plains of the Serengeti by midday. There is a grassland savannah stretching to the horizon in the Serengeti, which means “endless plains” in Maasai. A majority of the animals migrate to the Serengeti to find fresh grass and water every year. Tanzania’s Serengeti park is the world’s most famous park, home to the largest animal migration on the planet. The northern or central parts of the park have campsites where you will stay overnight.

Distance: ± 190 km
Driving Time: ±6 – 7 hours
Day 4: Serengeti National Park
Game viewing is the focus of the entire day in the Serengeti National Park. The game drives in Seronera will either take place in the morning or afternoon, depending on where you stayed last night. Wildebeests and zebras calves and foals are born between January and March, with herds of wildebeests and zebras seen between December and May. Also, leopards are particularly shy and nocturnal in the Seronera area. A campsite in the Seronera area will be your home for the night.

Day 5: Serengeti National Park – Ngorongoro Conservation Area, Tanzania
You will have another opportunity to observe some new creatures in the Serengeti in the morning. Before the temperatures soar around midday, animals tend to be more active in the morning. Travel to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area after lunch to leave the plains of the Serengeti. A campsite overlooking the collapsed volcano of Ngorongoro Crater will be your campsite during your safari. A sundowner at sunset would be a perfect occasion to enjoy this spot.

Day 6: Ngorongoro Crater – Mto wa Mbu, Tanzania
Shine brightly! In the morning, we are up at dawn to descend the steep path into the 600 m deep crater. Forested slopes give way to a savannah landscape with the occasional acacia tree scattered about. There is an abundance of wildlife in the crater, and if you are lucky you may be able to see the Big Five – lions, elephants, buffalo, rhinoceroses, and leopards. Aside from warthogs and wildebeests, zebras and hippos, you can also see more than 500 bird species here.
