You will either stay in public campsites inside the park or on private campsites on the outskirts. The campsites are not fenced which means you may come across roaming elephants on your way to the showers!

Tour Overview

Answer the call of the wild and the windswept plains of Northern Tanzania. Camp in the outdoors with nothing above you but bright stars for miles. Get to see the world famous Serengeti National Park and The Ngorongoro Conservation area. Add to that swamps, savannahs and loads of untamed wildlife and this trip ensures you discover Africa. Accommodation will be in waterproof tents that sleep two people (2.5m x 2.5m and 1.8m high) with built-in mosquito nets at the entrances and windows. Comfortable 5 cm thick sleeping mattresses are provided, as well as robust camping furniture such as tables, safari chairs, functional cutlery and crockery. You will also be accompanied by a skilled safari cook who will take care of your culinary needs.

Itinerary

Day 1: Arusha – Tarangire National Park, Tanzania

We start the tour after breakfast at the hotel and are driven to the Tarangire National Park. An enormous park home to a variety of animals including elephant herds. The Tarangire River has stunning grasslands, recurring swamps and not forgetting the life-giving Tarangire River. Besides spotting elephants, you will see giraffes, zebras, buffalo, antelopes and over 550 bird species. The noise of the safari vehicles become a norm for the animals in the park. After your game drive, you head to the camp just outside the reserve and spend the night here.

Day 2: Tarangire Area – Serengeti National Park, Tanzania

Making our way to the the Serengeti National Park where you find that corn, coffee and wheat is developed here. The name Serengeti which stands for “endless plains” originated from the Masai people.  Kopjes and unusual rock formations are often where predators are found surveying the lands for food. The park is well known to be the home for the biggest migration in the world and depending on the climatic conditions you may be able to witness this. Your destination is reached later in the afternoon and where you will set up for the night at the Seronera Valley camp.

Day 3: Serengeti National Park, Tanzania

The following day you experience some more game drives in the national park. Home to a variety of animals such as impalas, buffalo, crocodiles and hippos. There are also a number of predators awaiting the migration of wildebeest and zebra. The animals migrate from the north side of the region to the south side of the region and then return again to the north seeking greener pastures. We make our way to the camp and spend the evening in the Seronera Area.

Day 4: Serengeti National Park – Ngorongoro Conservation Area, Tanzania

Start your day with a delicious breakfast then onto another game drive in the Serengeti. You might spot the “Big Five”– lion, elephant, buffalo, rhino and leopard – on your drive to the Ngorongoro Crater. The animals wander freely in the reserve creating an incredibly serene environment. Experience the beautiful streams, grasslands and different types of animals at the edge of the crater. Spend the night here while watching the beautiful rays of the sun disappear behind the rim of the crater.

Day 5: Ngorongoro Conservation Area – Mto wa Mbu, Tanzania

Waking up early on the craters edge, experience an unforgettable sunrise and get ready for an adventurous track into the crater. Formed more than a thousand years ago, this site is 610m deep and is approximately 260 square kilometres wide. The crater has by far the best game viewing of all the parks in Tanzania. Be sure to be on the look out for the endangered black rhino, you might spot one peeking through the grass. After lunch we take a steep route up out of the equator to reach our next destination – the  multi cultural village of Mto wa Mbu. Spend the night at a campsite close to the Lake Manyara National Park where you end the day off with a delectable meal for dinner and relaxing by the pool.

Day 6: Mto wa Mbu – Lake Manyara National Park – Arusha, Tanzania

Our last stop will be to the Lake Manyara National Park which is made up of a shallow alkaline lake that makes up about 200 square kilometres of the park. Experience a variety of birds species here as well as viewing the hippos, elephants, baboons and tree-climbing lions on your game drive.  We head back to Arusha where your trips comes to an end here.
