What You'll Experience

Why You'll Love this Tour

We will travel through the vast Kalahari plains where we will meet the local Bushmen, one of the oldest communities in Africa. Then we travel to the magnificent Okavango Delta, the largest inland river delta in the world, which spills water from distant mountains of Angola into the vast Makgadikgadi plain, creating an unparalleled wildlife paradise. According to the season, we follow the age old game migration tracks through the world-renowned National Parks in fully equipped, open 4x4 vehicles. Our journey concludes with a game viewing cruise on the Chobe River, in Chobe National Park, followed by a visit to "The Smoke that Thunders" - Victoria Falls.

  • The tour requires participation from all group members. This entails assisting with the food preparation, washing of dishes and keeping the truck clean. Please keep in mind that flexibility and an open mind is needed on the trip. Your guide is registered with the Field Guide Association of Southern Africa (FGASA). This tour also provides great value as all highlights are included in the price so no hidden surprises.

Tour Reviews

Review by Henrique Vollmer who traveled Botswana Adventure:

Just thought I’d drop you a note to let you know how the trip had gone…
It was really spectacular! Thanks for your tips and suggestions; I think the Botswana was just right for what I was looking for.

The tour was great; the group was a nice set of people from different nationalities and the guide was awesome (Wayne Westland). He really managed to get us into the whole bush and wildlife scene!

Review by Irene Grimwader who traveled Botswana Adventure:

I had a wonderful time! It was a tiny group – just a young couple from Denmark and the guide(s) and myself. The Lodges were all comfortable, the guides just great, and we saw all of the big 5 except the rhino – plus African Painted dogs, Sable Antelopes, and so many more. The whole trip was very professionally done, without losing any enthusiasm which we all shared.

Review by Johannes who traveled Botswana Adventure (sourced from operator) :

Fantastic tour guide with a brain like a library on animals, nature and history and a lot of love for the local people. We leave him as a friend.

Review by Veronique who traveled Botswana Adventure (sourced from operator) :

I enjoyed the adventure very much and thanks to our guide Arnold I now know so much more about Southern Africa. Thank you very much for the memorable tour.

The Okavango is an enormous river leading into the sandy scenery of the Kalahari Desert, forming the world’s largest inland delta. This delta forms a unique ecosystem that contains a wide variety of animal life and vegetation. The sight of a nervous Lechwe pounding across a flooded plain, the Jacana striding delicately amongst the flowering lilies, the Bee Eater diving to prey on an unsuspecting insect, and of course the familiar cry of the African Fish Eagle all combine to create one of nature’s most incredible masterpieces.

We enjoy our time here exploring the area where local guides educate us about the animals and plants that call the Delta home. We will also have time to learn about the locals way of life in this wilderness.

Day 7-10: Flexible Game Reserve Schedule (Moremi/ Savuti), Botswana

In the early morning we return to Maun where we stock up on our supplies for the next few days. We will prepare ourselves for a game viewing trip using our vehicle to get into the wilderness, passing remote villages along the way. These 5 days will be spent in different game reserves, beginning with the Moremi Game Conservation. After arriving at this reserve we will spend our night near the famous third bridge. We will fall asleep surrounded by the sounds of nature’s wildlife. After our overnight, we travel via Xakanaxa towards the North Gate where our camp will be set up for us. Here, you can expect wonderful game viewing which is why we will spend our entire day game driving through the wetlands of the region.

We then drive to the Savuti region where our next campsite awaits us. This area gives us wonderful game drive opportunities. The environment is constantly changing from open plains, palm trees and marshland, to dense Mopane woodlands and Acacia scrub. We camp in pristine, private sites that are untouched by man, ensuring that when we leave it is in the same condition. An opportunity to venture into the Central Kalahari Game Reserve or the Makgadigadi Pans National Park may present itself but would be completed dependant on the conditions in the national park.

The Makgadikgadi Pans has spectacular dry scenery, famous for its abundant birdlife and other desert-adapted animals it attracts. Today we will be aware of our untouched environment and enjoy the serenity of the area before making our way to our accommodation for the evening.  Our guides will explain the constellations to you as this is the perfect spot for star-gazing. The pans may be inaccessible at the time of our arrival in which case we will make use of alternative accommodation.
