Johannesburg – Polokwane – Bulawayo – Matobo National Park, Zimbabwe

Day 1 Depart Johannesburg at 10 am by shuttle transfer to Polokwane where you meet up with the rest of the group. Afternoon Game Walk in Polokwane Reserve. The pre departure briefing will occur this afternoon before the walk or after dinner.

Day 2 we embarking on an enjoyable road trip north to the border where we cross into Zimbabwe and travel to Bulawayo, a tranquil city with luscious trees and clear spaces. Accommodation this evening is situated in the city, should time allow, feel free to explore the city of Zimbabwe.  The following day we pay a visit to a geological and natural heritage site.

Day 3 After a good night’s sleep, starting the day early we jump into a 4×4 vehicle for a game drive into the Matobo National Park. Situated just a brief distance outside of Bulawayo lies the Matobos National Park where you will be led by an expert guide through the stunning reserve. The Matobo Hills are sculpted by the strong winds in the area and are the site of various exquisite Bushman paintings. This place contains an exceptional cultural and spiritual significance to the indigenous people who populating this region. This reserve contains the highest population of leopard and black eagle in the world, so be sure to keep your eyes peeled for these magnificent animals. We also try our best to spot giraffe, zebra, and ostrich, as well as a wide assortment of antelope and buck species.
