Karatu – Ngorongoro Crater & Serengeti National Park

We depart the Ngorongoro Conservation area in the morning and make our way to the rich wildlife Ngorongoro Crater. The Ngorongoro Crater is the largest unbroken, unflooded caldera in the world with open savannahs, acacia forests and both soda and fresh water lakes. This World Heritage Site has some of the best game viewing in the African continent, including the elusive Black Rhino.

Following our game drive in the Crater we travel down the Crater rim and past the ‘Cradle of Mankind’ before reaching the Serengeti National Park. Game driving through the southern and central regions of the Park, we cross seemingly infinite landscapes of incredible natural beauty. Camp tonight is in the bushveld (no ablution facilities) surrounded by the cool breezes and tranquil sounds of the African wilderness. With no fences surrounding our campsite, we are truly in the midst of nature!
