Big Game Fishing in Zanzibar

Zanzibar offers some of the greatest Big Game Fishing due to its deep sea fishing grounds. Most of the fishing is done on the northern side of the island (Pemba, Mafia Island and Latham Island). You can fish for Barracuda, Wahoo, Kingfish and Giant Travelli all year round. Between July and November the Yellow Fin Tuna swim through here. November to March attracts bill fish, black marlin, striped marlin and dorados. The ever-popular dream catch, the sailfish, has been caught a lot during this time of the year.

Deep sea fishing boats are provided for your convenience and are fitted with the highest international safety standards. They include the latest fishing technology, including GPS, echo sounders and fish finders. A full set of tackle is provided with Shimano and Penn rods and reels, spooled with 80lb, 50lb or 20lb mono lines. However, you are welcome to use your own equipment.

“Bragging may not bring happiness, but no man having caught a large fish goes home through an alley.” –Ann Landers
