Beginning in Johannesburg, the City of Gold, travellers make their way to a small town within the province of Mpumalanga , Pilgrim’s Rest. It is in this town, officially declared a national monument, that the group will overnight in fantastic accommodation, resting up for the days to follow (The Graskop Hotel). On the way to Kruger National Park you will have the chance to spot several awe-inspiring sites, such as Bourke’s Luck Potholes or God’s Window, that allow for exquisite views and wonderful photographic opportunities.  The Kruger National Park is Africa’s largest game reserve, containing all of the country’s Big Five, as well as plenty of other animals and plant life. Heading into Swaziland you are introduced to another African highlight in the form of the Milwane Wildlife Sanctuary, the oldest protected are of the country.  The colourful markets and exciting activities in the area are also noteworthy.  In Zululand you will be immersed in cultural history and amazing fauna and flora. The nature in this region is best seen on a game drive through the Hluhluwe/Imfolozi Game Reserve – the oldest proclaimed park in the whole of Africa, famous for its plentiful wildlife and conservation efforts. This is another place wherein you will have the chance to spot all of the Big Five, and are almost guaranteed to see white rhino due to the biggest concentration of the species being housed in this reserve.

After a good nights’ rest in lovely accommodation, groups travel along the shoreline of the Indian Ocean, through KwaZulu-Natal before heading toward the Drakensberg Mountains.  The geological history off the lush mountains here gives the area a distinctive difference to that of the rest of the world’s mountain ranges. Accommodation here is both comfortable and stunning, surrounded by gorgeous backdrops. The Gariep Dam is another highlight during this tour, giving you phenomenal views from your hotel deck and rooms. The game drive through Addo Elephant National Park is exquisite, with the reserve boasting massive elephant, lion and various antelope herds.  There are more than 450 elephants present in this Park, giving visitors a chance to explore nature via an exhilarating elephant-back safari!

Journeying through the Garden Route is a fascinating experience. The name ‘Garden Route’ was given to the route due to the lush, ecologically diverse plant life of the area, as well as the various lagoons and lakes spotted along the shores. It is from here that the group begins their travels to the Mother City of Cape Town, where you will have the chance to see the iconic Table Mountain – one of the 7 Natural World Wonders. Here, you can indulge in the cosmopolitan culture of the city, the picturesque scenery and the exciting attractions, which includes some marvelous wine tasting at some impressive vineyards. You could also choose to spend a couple of extra days here exploring the beauty of the city, or even extend your vacation by adding another African adventure tour to your list!
