Itinerary

Day 1

Zimbabwe – Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe

We start our trip by visiting Victoria Falls National Park and spend the night. Here you have an opportunity to explore the falls and capture some great photos.

Day 2

Victoria Falls – Kasane, Botswana

We leave Victoria Falls and make our way towards Kasane. On arrival we set up camp along the Chobe River.   Lunch is served from the truck and the afternoon is spent exploring the national game reserve. Chobe National Park is a massive game reserve reknown for its elephants and hippos that explore the river, swamps and woodlands. You can take advantage of photographic opportunities this afternoon on a picturesque boat cruise through the park in search of these large animals and this evening we enjoy dinner around a campfire.

Day 3

Kasane – Caprivi, Namibia

We wake up early in the morning to enjoy a game drive in the Chobe National Park. We travel through the Caprivi Strip in Namibia to our next destination. It is important to note you will be entering Namibia twice (please note this for Visas).  We spent the night on the banks of the Okavango river where we prepare for the Delta excursions.

Day 4

Caprivi – Okavango Delta, Botswana

This morning we travel into the Okavango Delta. All those participating in the Okavango Delta Excursion, will experience picturesque cruises on crystal clear waters the and nature walks for the following 3 days, and you might spot some of the abundant wildlife.

Day 5 - 6

Okavango Delta –  Maun, Botwana

We begin our day early heading to the Delta around palm islands, this could be the most picturesque and relaxing of experiences.. Enjoy the variety of activities on offer in the Delta such as Mokoro rides and nature walks. On the following day we depart from the Delta and take a boat ride back to the truck before meandering back to Maun, the gateway to the Okavango Delta.

Day 7

Maun – Ghanzi, Botswana

A Scenic flight over the Delta presents itself this morning before making our way towards Ghanzi today. We will set up our camping site, following which we will meet the local San community. Enjoy an optional walk with San guides this afternoon. In the eveining we will get in touch with the San culture being entertained with some traditional Tribal Dancing and story telling.

Day 8

Ghanzi – Windhoek, Namibia

This day starts off with a long drive to the Namibian border and then on to Windhoek, in the heart of Namibia, where we will arrive in the early evening. Upon arrival in Windhoek, our guide will give us a short tour through the city in our vehicle. We will have the option to go to Joe’s Beer House to enjoy a hearty meal – definitely a feast for all the senses.

Day 9 - 10

Windhoek – Etosha National Park, Namibia

After leaving the city we head into Namibia’s desolate northern area. En route, we spend time at a popular craft market where you can buy handmade gifts to take home as souvenirs. We reach the Etosha National Park and game drive through to our camping site for tonight.

On the second day, there is more terrific game spotting on our way to our next campsite. Etosha National Park provides some of the most exclusive game viewing experiences in Africa. We will have several game drives here and spend our nights at the where we will have the opportunity to take some fantastic pictures.

Day 11

Etosha – Outjo, Namibia

Today we leave Etosha behind and travel towards Outjo, where we will be spending the night. We will have an optional game drive through the park in the morning (subject to availability), the afternoon is at leisure.

Day 12

Himba Tribe, Namibia

Our journey goes on towards Kamanjab. Today we will be able to experience life within a Himba group. The Himba are pastoral individuals and primarily reproduce livestock or goats. They are quickly recognisable by their unique outfit designs. The Himba have been incredibly persistent about maintaining the origins of their lifestyle, but they are also very curious about guests visiting their homes.

After visiting the Himba group we turn south and make our way to the quaint town of Khorixas. We end the day by visiting the petrified forest in the outskirts of the town.

Day 13

Khorixas – Swakopmund, Namibia

Today we enter Swakopmund and we pay a visit to Spitzkoppe. You can also choose to book one of the plenty Optional Activities available here (own expense). At night, there is an optional dinner at a local restaurant where you can try many different types of local dishes.

Day 14

Swakopmund, Namibia

This day gives you the opportunity to participate on multiple adventurous activities. You can also spend your time wandering through the streets doing some shopping. Available optional excursions include sand boarding, quad biking, skydiving or scenic flights over the vast Namib Desert.

Day 15

Swakopmund – Namib Naukluft, Namibia

We depart from Swakopmund today and head southwards, making a quick stop in Walvis Bay before turning east to the gorgeous Namib Desert. We will be accompanied by a local expert on a guided stroll through the desert as well as get taught more about the exclusive desert ecosystem and how the Bushmen managed survive in these harsh desert circumstances. We end the night early as we see have an extra early morning the following day.

Day 16

Sesriem and Sossusvlei Dunes, Namibia

This will be the earliest morning wake-up of our entire trip. We will wake before dawn for one of the highlights of the tour, climbing up Dune 45 to watch the rising sun. After our stroll, we will get the opportunity to explore Sossusvlei and unwind at our camping site before taking a short walk into Sesriem Canyon.

Day 17

 Namib Naukluft – Fish River Canyon , South Africa

Today we head south on route to Ais Ais. Famous for its hot water baths, this is perfect way to ease away the dust of the Namib. Enjoy an evening swim under the Desert Starts before preparing for the following day, as it will be another early start to catching the morning light filters into the Fish River Canyon.

Day 18

Fish River Canyon – Orange River, South Africa

We wake up early and make our way towards Hobas and to the Fish River Canyon, one of the largest canyons found in the world. We walk along the rim of the canyon before on our final stop in Namibia. Our campsite is located on the banks of the Orange River, on the South African side. In the afternoon there is a chance for you to canoe down the River or for you to take your time relaxing at the campsite and going for a swim.

Day 19

 Orange River – Cederberg Region, South Africa

Today we embark on a long drive to the Northern Cape’s fruit producing region in the Cederberg Mountains of South Africa. This evening we enjoy a traditional South Africa meal and celebrate the memories made.

On the last day of the tour, we make our way to the beautiful city of Cape Town. We stop at Table View for an outstanding view of Table Mountain from the other side of the bay. This is the spot from which the most photographs of Table Mountain are taken.
